Woke up this morning feeling terrible…No, I wasn’t sick or hung over but something wasn’t right. My guess is that the craziness of the week finally caught up with me and the last thing I was physically or mentally ready to do was go to Crossfit bright and early…but of course we did anyway. And of course I suffered the consequences (and compounded them tenfold by consuming nothing but 2 cups of coffee on the way down…HUGE mistake).by
(And oh, by the way, we’re running a 5k tomorrow…this chick is officially DONE for the day…)
The WOD changed from the post on their blog last night…and definitely broke me off. After a “surprise” warmup (she likes to mix it up for Saturday classes) we grabbed a single kettlebell and completed the following:
AMRAP, 20 minutes
Sprint the length of the parking lot and back (I’m guessing 75 meters?)
10 KB Swings
10 Goblet Squats
10 KB Snatches (5/side)
I got 7 rounds plus an extra run. Arrghhh. We drove home schweaty, shaky, and STARVING.
Enter THE BREAKFAST MEATZA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This was exactly what we needed…I could literally feel my muscles soaking up the protein and salt.
I prepped the “crust” last night but total prep + cook time was only about 30 minutes.
1 lb Ground Pork
1 lb Ground Sausage
Bake Crust at 450 for 10 minutes. Drain excess liquid and blot the surface. Add toppings. Broil for 5 minutes. Devour.
In a bit I’m heading out to do this week’s grocery shopping, so I’ll post the meal plan and budget later this afternoon. I already anticipate being a little over because they’ve got a special on grass-fed lamb down at Sam’s and I’d like to stock up…as long as I’m smart the monthly average should still be on point!
